Grounding Mats
Covers the whole mattress and sits under your own fitted sheet, so you stay grounded all night without changing how you make the bed.
- Deeper sleep
- Keep your own sheets
- No skin contact needed
Common questions
Setting it up
Lay the mat flat across the whole mattress, then make the bed exactly as you normally would — your own fitted sheet goes straight over the top.
Run the cord to the ground port of a nearby outlet, or to an outdoor ground rod if you'd rather not use the mains at all.
Test it before the first night. Plugged in is not the same as grounded — an outlet tester tells you the ground port is live, and a continuity tester confirms the charge reaches the mat.
How to use it
You don't need bare skin. The connection works straight through your normal sheets, so nothing about how you make the bed has to change.
Sleep on it every night and aim for 7–9 hours of unbroken contact. The mat is passive — nothing to switch on, nothing to do during the night.
Give it four weeks before you judge it. Sleep changes usually show up first, in the first week or two.
Care and washing
Carbon mat — wipe the surface with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then let it dry flat. Don't machine wash it, don't soak it, don't put it in the dryer.
Plush mat — machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a small amount of liquid detergent. Line dry, or tumble on low.
Both: never bleach, fabric softener or dryer sheets. Softener coats the conductive fibres and bleach corrodes them — either one quietly kills the connection while the mat still looks perfect.
Tips
Unplug the cord before you strip the bed and clip it back after. The connector wears out long before the mat does.
Because it sits under your sheet, you can wash your bedding as often as you like without touching the mat.
Sharing the bed grounds both of you — the surface doesn't care how many people are on it.
Get on the bed earlier than bedtime when you can. Reading or winding down on top of the mat adds an hour of contact before you even fall asleep.
Mat or sheet?
Both cover the whole bed and do the same thing. The difference is where they sit.
The mat goes under your own fitted sheet. Nothing about your bedding changes and you don't need skin contact.
The sheet is the bedding — you sleep directly on it, skin to fabric.
Is it safe?
Grounding is passive. It connects you to the earth's charge through the ground pin; it does not put current into you.
Talk to your doctor first if you have an implanted medical device, a diagnosed health condition, or take prescription medication where timing and dose matter.
